Our Advanced Technology in Washington, D.C., Chevy Chase, MD, & Arlington, VA
Early Detection
At Washington Eye Doctors, we believe in providing the highest standards of care to our patients. To achieve this, we use state-of-the-art technology to detect eye diseases and vision conditions early — especially before any damage is done. Aided by modern innovations, our comprehensive eye exams prioritize not only your prescription, but your overall eye health, so we can stay a step ahead of sight-threatening issues.
Technological Solutions
To help us stay on top of a variety of eye conditions, we’re equipped with trusted equipment that allows us to monitor your eyes in depth and track any changes between visits. We can even personalize your care by honing in on areas that might be especially at risk due to your age, lifestyle, medical history, and more. If we do detect any issues, we can formulate a one-of-a-kind plan to help manage your symptoms and address their root causes.
Eye Exams
We’ve invested in tech that lets us practice proactive and preventative eye care in everything we do, and it all starts with our comprehensive eye exams. Our doctors trust Optos retinal imaging, Optovue optical coherence tomography (OCT), and digital and retinal photography to give them the detailed look they need to help you love what you see.
Myopia Management
In our pediatric exams, we use child-friendly technology to comfortably diagnose and treat myopia (nearsightedness). Our equipment allows us to get an accurate measurement of your child’s prescription, which we’ll use to fit your child’s eyes with MiSight 1 day, rigid gas permeable (RGP), or multifocal lenses. These specialty contacts can slow the progression of myopia, reduce eye strain, and protect their eyes from more serious issues in the future.
Dry Eye
In our eye exams, we also examine the outer areas of your eye and assess any signs of dry eye disease to pinpoint its cause. As part of a plan to treat your dry eye, we offer LipiFlow®, a breakthrough in-office procedure that uses a special device to warm your eyelids and improve your tear quality.
Neurolens
Our doctors are specially trained in using Neurolens® — a groundbreaking glasses lens technology that helps correct eye misalignment and its uncomfortable effects on the body, like headaches, eye pain, and dizziness. With its contoured prism lens design, Neurolens® realigns the eyes for better focus and relief — and is versatile enough to fit in any frame!
Specialty Lenses
If you have ever been told you have eyes that are “hard-to-fit” for contacts, rest assured we have you covered. We offer a variety of specialty contact lenses great for a host of eye care and vision needs, like astigmatism, dry eye, keratoconus, and more. Our doctors also use OCT and corneal topography to measure your eyes and customize your specialty lens experience.
We Have the Right Technology for You
As a locally owned eye care practice, we’ve never been keen to put our heads down and follow what others are doing, but will instead do whatever is necessary to help our patients. That goal shines through in our use of the latest and greatest technology to give you superior vision clarity and comfort. You deserve the best, and that’s what we’re committed to offering every time you’re here.
